Windows not updating can be a variety of problems and issues. Today i will discuss how to fix Windows Update by re-registering the Windows Update Dlls. This is the most common issue and fix that i see most often.


First click on the "Start" button and then click on "Run". You should end up with a run dialog like the picture below.
Then Copy or paste the following commands individually into the run command and press enter:

• regsvr32 atl.dll
• regsvr32 wuapi.dll
• regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
• regsvr32 wucltui.dll
• regsvr32 wups.dll
• regsvr32 wups2.dll
• regsvr32 wuweb.dll
• regsvr32 msxml.dll
• regsvr32 msxml2.dll
• regsvr32 msxml3.dll
• regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll
• regsvr32 qmgr.dll

After pressing Enter there will be a dialog box letting you know that registering the dll succeeded


You should now be able to update windows after successfully re-registering the Windows Update Dlls.
